Legislator honors residents, 102 and 107

   Nassau County, NY, Legislator Judy Jacobs presented proclamations to two residents of Somerset Gardens Senior Living, 150 Sunnyside Boulevard, Plainview, during a party celebrating their 102nd and 107th birthdays Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
   Hilde Miller, 107, is a 10-year resident of the assisted living residence. She spent much of her life as a florist but had a passion for sewing, knitting and crocheting.
   Mrs. Zagon, 102, traveled the world until age 92 and has lived at Somerset Gardens since 2005. Her daughter, Claudia Schimel of Plainview, joined her for Tuesday’s party, which featured a cake for each lady and live entertainment.
